For long the climate has changed from " what media do to people " to " what people do to media". The practice goes on until today.
Mr Jee Yuan, the head of Publication Section ( they call it Utusan Section ) seems to has a particular and critical mind. He writes and publishes educational and informative topics in Utusan Konsumer. Therefore Utusan Konsumer is not a newspaper indeed. It tells what's happening now and depicts the future.
It's a wonderful chance that he gave us a task to write about some topics. While it was challenging as he wants straightforward facts and analysis. He reminded us the rule, ' Put yourself into the audience's shoes. Don't write something that you understand while others don't. You are not writing academically, but you are delivering messages to the public. '
Yes, the public are not passive, we are going to match their demands. However it doesn't mean to give what they want. There is a communication way of it : try to understand what they need, why they behave so, how would they react ---- in a rational basis.
Reminder of the day : Media are for people, people rely on media. Although the understanding of audience can help to deliver message effectively, but not to forget communicators should deliver message with responsibility.
